Alex Bolar runs a topnotch restaurant-quality meal delivery service from his home in Los Angeles, California. Bolar takes inspiration from many ethnic traditions and blends them together in his fusion-style cooking that he coins as “New American”. He makes a new set of menus each week, offering constant variety, and bases each meal around produce that is in season locally at that moment. 

Each of Bolar’s dinners features freshly harvested vegetables, a protein, and grains. He is a one-man-shop: each day he buys food while it is fresh, cooks the meals individually, and then delivers them to the homes of his clients himself while the food is still hot. On a busy day, he prepares about twenty restaurant-class meals, delivering the food between 6 and 7 PM. Aiming for simplicity, he ensures that all of his customers live nearby, but his food is so good that his clients often recommend his work to friends in other parts of Los Angeles. Bolar plans to continue to build his meal delivery service business for the foreseeable future. Down the road he hopes to open a cafe that will serve lunch daily and segue to become a dessert bar in the evening, where he can provide a vibrant sense of community as well as stellar cooking.
